Walter McBride has been a professional trumpet player since his freshman year in college at the age of 17. He went on to graduate from Florida International University with a degree in music theory and composition. While living in South Florida and being a full-time professional musician, Walter played in and toured with a number of award-winning show and funk bands as well as on cruise ships and in recording sessions.
Currently he is the bandleader, arranger and performer of a nine-piece jazz combo “The TOMCATZ-BAND”. His daytime job is a band director in a private school as well as a private brass instructor. He played trumpet on the Brass Ring 2018 recording featured in this website.
